Frequently Asked Questions

Hello! Please give us a call at 202-643-4934 or [email protected] if you cannot find an answer to your question. We look forward to connecting with you!

What is the cost of therapy sessions at Worthy to Live Therapy?

I am an Out-Of-Network Mental Health Provider. This means I do not accept health insurance directly. This allows me to spend more time providing services to my clients rather than billing insurance. The fees are set based on my years of expertise and postgraduate level training. The intake is 60 minute session and $185 and each session thereafter is 50-55 minutes and $155. I can provide you with a superbill for reimbursement through your insurance company. I recommend contacting your insurance company and asking your coverage for an 'out of network mental health provider'. Investing in your mental health is one of the most valuable decisions you can make.

How long is a therapy session?

The initial intake is 60 minutes and each session thereafter is between 50-55 minutes. Occasionally, a longer session may be recommend for trauma focused work/emdr.

How many sessions will I need?

The frequency of counseling sessions with Worthy to Live Therapy will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly. I typically suggest meeting weekly for at least the first 3-5 sessions  for us to build rapport and set a clear treatment plan. The amount of sessions thereafter will depend on your individual goals.

Do you offer virtual and in-person sessions?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions on a secure platform and in-person sessions at my Columbia office.

What is your cancellation fee?

Cancellations of appointments made with less than 24 working hours notice will result in a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the missed session. If you fail to attend a therapy session without notice you will be charged the Cancellation Fee.
